Princess Cruises introduces CrewCall (on-demand service) on MedallionClass ships

   June 11, 2021 ,   Cruise Industry

Princess Cruises introduced a new on-demand service that allows passengers to call a crew to their location to make "an in-person request for assistance."

CrewCall service on demand is offered on stateroom TVs as well as the line's MedallionClass app and leverages the OceanMedallion wearable to guide a crew to a guest’s exact location to be of service to the passenger.

The new capability is another example of how Princess Cruises is leveraging MedallionClass technology to increase personalized service versus replacing it.

The corresponding CrewCall Chat feature lets passengers text a specific question or request using a smart device to be answered/actioned virtually by crew.

Both CrewCall features expand Princess' OceanNow digital experience vacationers use to place amenity, food, beverage, and retail orders for delivery directly to their exact location.

CrewCall is part of an array of TrulyTouchlessTM conveniences that are expected to be available to passengers when Princess returns to service starting July 25 with Majestic Princess in Alaska, and Sky Princess and Regal Princess with “seacations” in the UK starting July 31.

The feature is the latest of the enhancements recently added to the company's Princess MedallionClass experience to deliver a more personalized vacation. The OceanMedallionTM wearable elevates the passenger experience by enabling touchless embarkation/disembarkation, frictionless commerce, keyless stateroom entry, and additional contactless capabilities accessible using smartphones and tablets, including family and friends locator; wayfinding; first-run movies; live TV; interactive events; activities planner; interactive fun.
