The keel-laying ceremony for the newest Emerald Cruises' superyacht Emerald Sakara took place on October 27th, at the Halong Shipyard (Ha Long City, Vietnam).

Sistership to the soon-to-be-launched Emerald Azzurra, Sakara is Emerald's 2nd luxury superyacht and is scheduled to enter service in 2023.

Glen Moroney, the owner of Scenic Group, which includes the travel brands/subsidiaries Emerald Cruises and Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours said they were very excited with the progress of their ocean division at Emerald Cruises.

"Global demand from our guests for our yacht cruise product gave us the confidence to build a sister yacht to Emerald Azzurra. I would like to thank our partners at the Ha Long Shipyard for their ongoing support.”

After her maiden voyage through the Indian Ocean islands of Seychelles in early 2023, Emerald Sakara is expected to join Emerald Azzurra in the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Black, and Red Seas.

The new boat is expected to continue to raise the bar within the superyacht market and will boast balconies on 88% of cabins, as well as more space per passenger than similar ships of her size. Vacationers will enjoy a large infinity pool, gym, spa, and marina platform, with marina toys available like paddleboards and snorkeling equipment. All passengers can enjoy inclusive pricing with all onboard meals, complimentary beers, wines, and soft drinks at lunch and dinner, along with a number of included shore trips and onboard activities.

Emerald Sakara will be the 11th ship in Emerald's fleet, which includes riverboats sailing in Europe and Asia. Emerald Sakara is scheduled to set sail in 2023-Q1, with itineraries already on sale.
