Successfully was completed the extensive 4-week drydock refurbishment of Marella UK's ship Marella Explorer, at Navantia's Puerto Real shipyard (Cadiz, Spain).

The main outfitter onboard, Trimline's 80-strong team of joiners, upholsterers, floor layers, decorators, tilers, french polishers, welders, electricians, and hard surface repairers finished a complex refurbishment of the ship's Main Restaurant (Latitude & Vista) including the installation of an ultra-high efficiency lighting system (15% more efficient than the standard LED drivers).

Changing the existing lighting over to the new system saves ~130 Tonnes of CO2 annually.

Other areas the team of Trimline refurbished were: Indigo including the installation of an interactive LED dancefloor; The Mediterranean Bar including the recovering of loose seats and sofas; The Attic; The Hideout; Broadway Show Lounge;  Cinema; Squid & Anchor; Pool Deck; Umi Sushi; Lounge; Bar 53; Coffee Port; The Shack; Cruise Holiday Store; Destination Services; and the carpeting of 60 staterooms.

One of the key success factors of the refurbishment was the use of Trimline’s new app (TAPP) running their entire business. The first of its kind, the app provides a way for Trimline, its clients, contractors, and suppliers to work collaboratively to the end-goal of an executed project, on time, and on budget.

TAPP helped in many ways during the extensive refit, including progress monitoring, planned vs actual resource, purchase status, people movement, contractor portal.
