Inverie is the main village on Knoydart peninsula in the Scottish Highlands. It is concentrated on Loch Nevis' north side. Although on mainland of Great Britain, the single-track road is not connected to the rest of national road network. The village is reachable, aside from a 27-km (17-mile) hike over rough terrain, by the regular 11-km (7-mile) ferry from Mallaig, giving Inverie a Guinness National Record for remoteness.
The Old Forge pub in Inverie is the remotest in mainland Britain as it is the furthest from roads connected to country's national network in journey distance. In addition to the Old Forge, there are two cafes, a pottery and a shop. A few bed & breakfasts compete with rental cottages, lodges and a campsite for tourists throughout the year.
