(pier collision) On December 20, 2011, while berthing at Duke Point ferry terminal (Tsawwassen, British Columbia Canada), the ship collided with the dock, sustaining significant portside damages.

Due to needed repairs at the terminal, the facility was closed and the service was rerouted through Departure Bay. The vessel reentered service in January 2012, while the Duke Point terminal was reopened in May 2012.

Note: Actually, this type of marine accident is called “allision” (striking a fixed object) as opposed to “collision” (striking another vessel).
