ACL American Eagle cabins review

Below is a review of the ACL American Eagle ship's cabins, amenities, furniture, and included (complimentary) services.

Most staterooms (48 out of 56 total, or ~85%) feature a private, step-out balcony accessible from the living room via a sliding, floor-to-ceiling glass door. Cabin balconies are similarly sized, with the exception of Deck 4's suites (Grand and Sky). Each balcony is furnished with a small round table and two deckchairs.

Hotel beds are Queen-size doubles or two twin beds, with plush headboards, ample under-bed storage space (for suitcases), bedside cabinets (3-drawer, with reading lamps), a 2-door wardrobe/closet, a chest of drawers (bedroom dresser), individual climate control, and a medical emergency button.

Regardless of cabin category, each accommodation features a hotel-style, full-size bathroom (with shower), a hairdryer, Judith Jackson brand premium bath amenities (shampoo, body wash, conditioner, moisturizer, mouthwash, facial bar, bath soaps, vanity kit), a smart HDTV (with local and satellite reception, infotainment system with Internet and on-demand movies), a phone (for onboard communication only), a coffee maker, an alarm clock, and a mirrored vanity desk with a chair.

Suites are available in 3 categories: GS-Grand, SS-Sky, and VS-Veranda. Of these, VS-Veranda is slightly larger than the Standard Balcony, but with a premium/upper-deck location. The two-room Grand and Sky suites are the largest accommodations and offer additional amenities such as a separate living room and bedroom (2x TVs), fresh flowers, terry robes, a refrigerated mini-bar, in-room dining service (continental breakfast served on the balcony), King-size beds, a bed bench, contemporary furniture (armchairs, 2-seater couch, dining table with 2 chairs), and marble bathrooms with a double-sink vanity.

Free Wi-Fi Internet access is available throughout the ship. Complimentary services include alcohol (beer and wine by the glass at lunch and dinner), unlimited drinks (soda, water, juices, coffee, tea), snacks (including freshly baked items), and room service.

American Cruise Lines deals are not inclusive of gratuities and port fees. Since 2022, domestic flights (between airports in the USA, including all 19 of the company's ports in 16 US states) are available with flat-rate airfares (fixed and not subject to future changes). Additionally, since 2022, ACL prices include a pre-cruise hotel stay overnight in the homeport/departure port city.

MS American Eagle has a total of 3 single cabins (for solo travelers) that can be booked with single-occupancy rates (no single supplement is required). Each stateroom has a balcony (with a low table and chair), a French-sized bed (6x5 ft/190x140 cm), a mirrored writing desk with a chair, a TV, and a bedside table with a reading lamp.

The ship has only one handicapped stateroom (category AAM balcony cabin #210, located midship-starboard on Deck 2). This cabin is wheelchair-accessible (for disabled passengers), with two separate beds, a convenient near-lift location, and is ADA-compliant. The stateroom is designed with larger doors (for both entry and the bathroom), wider turning spaces, and a larger bathroom (fitted with a raised toilet seat with arms).

Of all staterooms, only 8 (all positioned forward on Deck 1, category AAC) do not have balconies.
