AIDAstella deck plans

ms AIDAstella (2013-built, last refurbished in March 2023) is the seventh and final vessel of the Sphinx-class AIDA cruise ships—alongside sister ships AIDAblu, AIDAmar, AIDAsol, and the slightly smaller 1-deck vessels AIDAbella, AIDAdiva, and AIDAluna. The shipowner is Costa Cruises (a Carnival Corporation company), and the vessel is operated by the German cruise line AIDA Cruises.

The AIDAstella cruise ship deck plan includes a total of 1,097 cabins for 2,194 passengers (maximum occupancy is 2,700), served by 610 crew members. The ship has 14 decks (12 accessible to passengers, 7 with cabins), 7 restaurants, 12 bars and lounges, 2 swimming pools, 4 Jacuzzis (outdoor whirlpool hot tubs), and 10 elevators.

Main deck areas include:

• Dining facilities (43,000 ft² / 3,988 m²)
• Wellness area (27,990 ft² / 2,600 m²) – one of the largest at sea
• Outdoor deck space (87,000 ft² / 8,120 m²)
• Theatrium / Theater (32,000 ft² / 3,000 m²)

Complimentary dining options (included in AIDAstella cruise fares) are Markt, California Grill, East, and Bella Donna. Specialty restaurants available at an additional charge include Rossini, Buffalo, Sushi Bar, and Brauhaus. In AIDAstella's three buffet restaurants (Markt, East, Bella Donna), soft drinks, beer, and house wines are complimentary during lunch and dinner.

In addition to the ship's staff and crew, AIDA cruise passengers are assisted by Pepper robots—advanced humanoid technology introduced fleetwide in 2016. These robots greet and guide passengers during embarkation and assist throughout the voyage by providing information and tips on dining, entertainment, enrichment programs (workshops, scheduled events), casino and shopping promotions, and shore excursions. Pepper robots are mobile, speak three languages (English, German, Italian), and can interpret human emotions by analyzing voice tone and facial expressions.

AIDAstella deck plan changes 2018 refurbishment review

The ship’s 5-day drydock in 2018 (March 3-8, in Dubai, UAE) resulted in the following updates:

• Eisbar by Langnese Happiness Station (ice cream bar) was added on Deck 11, allowing guests to create custom treats from a variety of ingredients. Options include swirls, soft-serve, and Carte d'Or premium ice creams.
• A new gaming room was added to the Teen Club on Deck 12.
• The Body & Soul SPA complex on Deck 12 received new flooring.
• All public areas were upgraded with new energy-efficient LED lighting and approximately 3,500 m² (37,700 ft²) of new carpeting.

The 5-day project at Drydocks World shipyard also included general maintenance and routine classification work.
