AIDAluna deck plans
Deck layouts, review of facilities, activities, amenities
AIDAluna deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2026-2027-2028 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by AIDA Cruises deckplan pdf (printable version).
Each of the AIDAluna cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on AIDAluna staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.
ms AIDAluna (2009-built, last refurbished in 2025/AIDA Evolution refurbishment) is the third of the SPHINX-class AIDA Cruises ships, along with AIDAbella and AIDAdiva. The shipowner is Costa Cruises (a Carnival Corporation brand), and the liner is operated by the German company AIDA Kreuzfahrten.
The AIDAluna cruise ship deck plan features a total of 1,025 cabins for 2,050 passengers (maximum capacity 2,500), served by 590 crew members. The vessel has 13 decks (11 accessible to passengers, 6 with cabins), 7 restaurants, 11 bars and lounges, 3 swimming pools, 4 Jacuzzis/outdoor hot tubs, and 10 elevators.
Complimentary dining options (included in the AIDAluna cruise fare) include Markt, Weite Welt, Pizzeria Mare, and Bella Vista. Specialty restaurants available for an additional charge (reservation required) are Rossini, Buffalo, and the Sushi Bar. In the three buffet restaurants (Markt, Weite Welt, Bella Vista), wine and beer are complimentary during lunch and dinner.
In addition to the ship’s crew and staff, AIDA passengers are also assisted by Pepper robots—humanoid cyborgs introduced fleetwide in 2016. These robots greet and guide passengers during embarkation and assist them throughout the voyage by providing information and tips about dining, entertainment, enrichment programs (workshops, scheduled events), casino and shopping promotions, and shore excursions. Pepper robots are mobile, speak three languages (English, German, Italian), and can interpret human emotions based on voice tone and facial expressions.
AIDAluna deckplan changes/refurbishments review
The AIDA Evolution drydock refit in 2025 (Nov-Dec) resulted in the following deckplan and facility/amenity changes:
- The Theatrium (main show lounge) received redesigned seating (with backrests around the stage on Deck 9), a new color scheme, and advanced sound, lighting, and stage control systems.
- All cruise cabins were updated with new canopies, carpets, curtains, and color schemes. Balcony cabins were fitted with new chairs and sofas. Some cabins were reconfigured to quads to accommodate families. Six new family suites were added at the stern, each with private sundecks, separate living/sleeping areas (with double beds), and additional beds in the living room. Some suites now accommodate up to five guests plus a baby cot. Suite guests have access to exclusive retreats—the Sky Deck and Rossini Lounge.
- Public areas on Decks 9, 10, and 11 were extensively redesigned.
- New dining and beverage venues were introduced: French Kiss (restaurant and bar), East Fusion (Asian cuisine), Tapas Bar (Spanish snacks), Yachtclub Restaurant (maritime cuisine), Panorama Bar, Ice Bar, Tokyo Bar, and Lanai Bar.
- The wellness complex was completely renovated, with the addition of two Thermal Suites equipped with private whirlpools, saunas, and waterbeds. The Hair Spa was redesigned and now includes a Nail Spa.
- The new Fun Park (on Deck 14) features an 8-m/27-ft-high climbing tower, a water slide, and interactive caves.
- The Kids Club was redesigned.
The ship’s wetdock refurbishment in 2019 (April 3–16) at Blohm+Voss Shipyard (Hamburg, Germany) resulted in the following deckplan changes:
- A new lounge venue, Almhutte, was introduced—styled like an alpine lodge and offering traditional Alpine cuisine with live music. The expanded restaurant concept includes a gourmet menu with complimentary specialties such as pork knuckle, cheese spaetzle noodles, light snacks, and draft beers. Food and service are complimentary; beverages are available at an extra charge.
- AIDA Shopping World was added through a partnership with the Hamburg-based company Gebr. Heinemann SE & Co. KG (founded in 1879). The retail space spans 400 m² (4,300 ft²) and offers premium brands in an innovative store layout.
- All passenger cabins and several public areas were renovated and modernized. All restaurants, bars, and the SPA complex were refurbished.
- Fujifilm Wonder Photo Shop was introduced, offering an interactive photo experience for guests.
During the 2014 drydock (April 26–May 5, at Blohm+Voss), maintenance tasks were completed on stabilizers, steering systems, hull, and machinery. A new exhaust scrubber system was installed, and renovations included flooring, staterooms, public areas, carpeting, and deck resurfacing. A face recognition system was implemented at the AIDA Photo Shop, cutting printing chemical and paper consumption by 50%.
