American Heritage deck plans

Deck layouts, review of facilities, activities, amenities

American Heritage deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2025-2026-2027 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by American Cruise Lines deckplan pdf (printable version).

Each of the American Heritage cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on American Heritage staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.

American Heritage (2015-built as "Queen of the Mississippi", renamed following a major drydock refurbishment in 2021-2022) is an authentic, late-1800s-style Mississippi River paddlewheel steamboat operated by American Cruise Lines. Other paddlewheel riverboats in the company's fleet include the American Splendor (formerly "America", launched in 2016 as "American Eagle" and a sistership), American Pride (2012, the original "Queen of the Mississippi"), and American West (formerly "Queen of the West").

Ships with similar paddlewheel design also sail for American Queen Voyages, including the American Queen and American Empress. These classic American paddlewheel vessels, historically known as "paddle steamers", were once powered by steam engines turning one or two paddle wheels (stern or side-mounted). The new Queen of the Mississippi (now American Heritage) uses two diesel engines and a propulsion system with three Azimuth thrusters.

The Queen of the Mississippi/American Heritage deck plan includes 84 staterooms accommodating up to 150 passengers, served by 50 crew members. The ship has five passenger decks accessible by two elevators, and features seven bars/lounges and one restaurant.

Main highlights of the riverboat include:

  • historically accurate design and décor
  • a large collection of artwork displayed throughout the vessel
  • modern maritime technologies
  • luxury hotel-style comfort and amenities
  • onboard entertainment and activities themed around American history
  • carefully curated excursions focused on U.S. heritage, culture, and cuisine
  • a premium river cruising experience along the Mississippi River itinerary

Note: In August 2015, the company announced that the original “Queen of the Mississippi” (launched in 2012 for the Mississippi River) would be renamed "American Pride" and reassigned to the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest.
