MS Nordkapp (built 1996, last refurbished in 2016) is one of the six advertised as “contemporary” Hurtigruten ships – together with Kong Harald, Nordlys, Nordnorge, Polarlys and Richard With. These ships serve company’s "Norwegian Coastal Voyages" (NCV) program for cruise ferry travel by passenger-cargo vessels with regularly (year-round) scheduled ferry crossings along Norway’s coast and visiting a total of 34 different seaports between Bergen and Kirkenes.
MS Nordkapp cruise ship deck plan has a total of 218 staterooms for 458 passengers (max capacity is 622 guests on Norwegian coastal voyages), served by 70 crew/staff (all Norwegian). The ship has 7 passenger decks (all accessed by 2 elevators), 1 car lift (connecting decks 2 & 3 only), 4 bars, 5 lounges, Spa/Sauna, Fitness, 2 jacuzzies. Naturally, the ship’s interior design is North Cape inspired, with public spaces displaying artworks by several famous Norwegian artists, including some by Karl Harr. The Nordkapp ship has four cabin decks with mostly twin-bed configuration outside staterooms with large-size picture windows.
The Nordkapp ship is named after the Norwegian North Cape (located on the Mageroya island, in Norway’s county Finnmark).
