MS Nordkapp (1996-built, last refurbished in 2021) is one of the six ships marketed as “contemporary” Hurtigruten vessels – together with Kong Harald, Nordlys, Nordnorge, Polarlys and Richard With. These vessels operate the company’s Norwegian Coastal Voyages (NCV) program – a year-round passenger-cargo service offering scheduled ferry crossings along Norway’s coast and calling at 34 different ports between Bergen and Kirkenes.
MS Nordkapp’s deck plan includes 218 staterooms accommodating 458 passengers (with a maximum capacity of 622 guests on Norwegian coastal voyages), served by a 70-member all-Norwegian crew. The ship has 7 decks (6 accessible to passengers, 4 with cabins, all connected via 2 elevators), 1 car lift (linking decks 2 and 3 only), 4 bars, 5 lounges, a Spa/Sauna, a Fitness Center and 2 jacuzzis. The interior design is inspired by the North Cape, with public areas featuring artworks by renowned Norwegian artists, including pieces by Karl Harr. The ship offers four cabin decks, predominantly featuring twin-bed outside staterooms with large picture windows.
MS Nordkapp is named after the North Cape, located on Mageroya Island in Norway’s Finnmark county.
