MS Richard With (1993-built, last refurbished in February 2022) is one of Hurtigruten’s six “contemporary” ships, together with Kong Harald, Nordkapp, Nordlys, Nordnorge, and Polarlys. These vessels operate the company’s "Norwegian Coastal Voyages" (NCV) program, providing year-round cruise-ferry service along the Norwegian coast and calling at 34 different ports between Bergen and Kirkenes.
MS Richard With’s deck plan includes 219 staterooms accommodating 464 passengers (maximum capacity 590 guests on Norwegian Coastal Voyages) and a crew of 70 (all Norwegian). The ship has 7 decks, with 6 accessible to passengers and 4 featuring cabins, all connected by two elevators. The ship’s interior design showcases beautifully decorated public spaces, featuring artworks by Norwegian coastal artists, including pieces by the Harr family. Yellow is the dominant color throughout the vessel. Her four cabin decks offer primarily twin-bed outside staterooms with large picture windows.
The vessel is named after Hurtigruten’s founder, Richard Bernhard With (1846–1930), a ship captain, businessman, and Norwegian politician.
