MS Spirit of the Rhine (2021-built) is the first of two privately-owned by Saga Group riverboats - together with Spirit of the Danube (2022). Both riverboats are operated via the UK-based subsidiary company Saga Cruises. Saga's other river cruise ships are operated under a charter and those vessels are owned by different companies (shipowners and cruise lines). Both Saga-owned vessels are custom-designed luxury riverboats. Saga also owns two newbuild ocean liners - Spirit of Discovery (2019) and Spirit of Adventure (2020).
