The MS Fernao de Magalhaes deck plan includes a total of 71 staterooms accommodating 142 passengers, served by 21 crew and staff. The ship features four passenger decks, one restaurant, and two lounges with bars — one forward and one aft with a terrace. Guests can also enjoy a spacious sundeck relaxation area with shaded seating. An elevator connects all cabin decks. The ship does not have a fitness room, spa, sauna, beauty salon, swimming pool, or jacuzzi.

The riverboat is named after the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan (1480–1521), who led the East Indies expedition (1519–1522) that achieved the first circumnavigation of the Earth.
