On Friday, February 25, the new AIDA Cruises' ship AIDAcosma will visit the port of Hamburg (Germany) for the first time at 04:00 p.m.

It is the line’s 2nd newbuild to be powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas), the lowest-emission fossil fuel in the shipping industry.

Before AIDAcosma's mooring at the Steinwerder cruise ship terminal, there will be a special sistership meeting on the Elbe with AIDAprima, currently on her way down the Elbe River toward Rotterdam (Netherlands) and expected to greet the new member of the fleet at Teufelsbruck.

The first passengers will set sail on the new cruise ship at 06:00 p.m. on February 26. From Hamburg, the liner will sail to Southampton (England UK) and on to Cherbourg (France). Further calls include Zeebrugge (Bruges, Belgium) and Rotterdam before the liner moors again in Hamburg on March 5.

AIDAcosma is due to visit the Hanseatic city 7 times. The highlight will be the official christening ceremony on April 9 when the popular athlete Kristina Vogel will christen the new ship in Hamburg. Guests on the 14-day christening voyage (April 9-23, 2022) from Hamburg to Palma de Mallorca (Majorca Island, Balearic Spain) can experience the special event onboard. Shore tours are available in southern England, Lisbon (Portugal), Malaga and Barcelona (Spain).
