NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line announced that world-popular pop icon and “American Idol” judge Katy Perry would serve as the godmother to the line's record-breaking and innovative newbuild, Norwegian Prima, debuting in August 2022.

As godmother, Katy Perry will not only fulfill the maritime tradition of blessing and naming Norwegian Prima, the first of 6 ships in the Prima Class, but will perform during the christening ceremony before the newbuild sets sail on her inaugural voyages from Reykjavík (Iceland).

While onboard, vacationers can escape to Ocean Boulevard, boasting a wealth of infinity pools and Oceanwalk glass bridges with ocean views, visit Indulge, Norwegian’s first upscale international dining open-air marketplace or have a break on The Concourse, featuring an outdoor sculpture garden with “Instagrammable” installations by Alexander Krivosheiw and David Harber.

Designed by the architects at Piero Lissoni, the luxurious centralized suite complex, The Haven By Norwegian is expected to feature 107 staterooms spanning 8 decks with a new infinity pool overlooking the wake of the ship and a new outdoor spa with a cold room and glass-walled sauna.

Most recently, Norwegian unveiled its culinary and beverage offerings on Norwegian Prima and Viva, including The Metropolitan, NCL’s first sustainably-focused lounge, and ultra-upscale Mediterranean seafood specialty restaurant Palomar.
