On May 14, 2022, the newest member of the A-ROSA Cruises fleet – A-ROSA SENA – will be officially christened in Cologne (Koln, Germany North Rhine-Westphalia). The popular German actress and singer Yvonne Catterfeld will serve as the godmother of the newbuild.
Catterfeld said the A-ROSA SENA would "set new standards on the river in terms of design and green technologies," and she was very proud to christen the innovative ship.
“I often go on holiday on the A-ROSA ships myself and we particularly enjoy the family-friendliness on board. With the A-ROSA SENA, I am therefore very excited about the family cabins, the Kids Club and the children’s pool.”
After A-ROSA FLORA in Mainz (Germany Rhineland-Palatinate) and A-ROSA ALVA in Porto-Leixoes (Oporto, Portugal), A-ROSA SENA is already the 3rd ship to be named by the brand ambassador.
Yvonne Catterfeld will be supported at the ceremony by the 2 ambassadors of the future generation Clara Katharina Eichler (14yo) and Enna Marie Kate Sandmann (10yo). The daughters of the 2 A-ROSA managing directors symbolically stand for the A-ROSA multigenerational voyages as well as the importance of climate action for next generations.
The celebration is expected to take place in the presence of all A-ROSA employees onboard the vessel.
Various events for sales partners will take place onboard afterward.
On May 21, A-ROSA Sena is scheduled to depart on her maiden voyage from Cologne and head along the Rhine, calling at Amsterdam (Netherlands), Rotterdam (Netherlands), and Antwerp (Belgium).
