In the context of the announcement for 6 options dated March 2018, Viking Cruises and Fincantieri put into effect the contracts for the 3rd and 4th units.

The two companies also signed the contract for the 5th and 6th units, subject to access to financing as per cruise industry practice.

The value of the agreements is ~EUR 1.7 billion.

Deliveries are scheduled for 2026, 2027, and two units in 2028.

For the batch of 6 vessels, which follows the ten units ordered in 2012, Fincantieri (in partnership with the shipowner) developed a project based on the features of the previous ships, upgraded/revisited with the latest technologies.

The new Viking vessels will be constructed according to the latest navigation regulations as well as equipped with the most modern safety systems. The newbuilds are designed with powerplants based on hydrogen fuel cells.
