Carnival Luminosa set sail on Monday, September 26, for the first time with her brand new livery and funnel, making her a step closer to being ready for guests.

Already added to 50% of the Carnival fleet, the new livery showcased on Carnival Luminosa was first introduced on Mardi Gras last year, and features the red, white, and blue hues associated with the line.

The liner now also has a vintage funnel design that is reminiscent of the funnels on the line’s original ships like Carnivale, Festivale, and Mardi Gras, which has also been painted with the iconic colours of Carnival.

Luminosa departed her dry dock in Palermo (Italy) to head to Dubai (Port Rashid-Dubai Harbour, UAE) where her crew will join before heading to their final destination.

Captain Binacchi said they had been anticipating the day where they could see Carnival Luminosa sail the open seas with their new hull design and updated funnel, and it was even more special than they had imagined.

“Now, she’s on her way to what truly makes a Carnival cruise vacation special - getting our crew on board! With Luminosa’s uniqueness and our team members who make everyone feel at home, this ship is truly going to deliver a new level of fun that our guests have not experienced before.”

September 26 also marked the first time Carnival Luminosa was sailing with her new Bahamian flag. The vessel was officially registered last week with the BMA-Bahamas Maritime Authority.

Carnival Luminosa will depart from Brisbane (Queensland Australia) to seasonal itineraries from November 6, 2022, through to April 13, 2023, before repositioning for seasonal service from Seattle WA to Alaska in May 2023, including first-time-for-Carnival destinations.
