Viking River Cruises USA will commence stops in Greenville (Mississippi) this Friday, February 24th, bringing thousands of vacationers over a period of time.

As Greenville mayor & Co-Chair of the Mississippi River Cities and Towns Initiative (MRCTI), Mayor Errick D. Simmons approached the company in 2022 about adding Greenville MS as a call port for Viking Mississippi to experience the Delta culture, hospitality, great food, people, and places.

MRCTI is an organization of 103 Mayors along the Mississippi River's main stem.

Mississippi's tourism supports 300,000+ jobs, and the "river tourists" spend ~USD 20 billion annually.

Greenville MS is now poised to become a greater part of the industry, which many cities along the river benefit from.

Viking launched its Mississippi cruise operations in 2022 and other companies are expanding operations.

Other major companies/brands that have regularly scheduled visits to Greenville are AQV-American Queen Voyages and ACL-American Cruise Lines.
