MSC Explora Journeys announced a new line-up of voyages for the autumn & winter 2024-2025 season of EXPLORA 1, the first of a fleet of 6 luxury ships, that are already open for booking.

Featuring 2 grand journeys and 23 journeys between September 2024-April 2025, the itineraries encompass 73 destinations across 24 different countries. 8 of them are a first for Explora Journeys, including Macapa, Alter-do-Chao and Manaus in the Amazon, as well as the Devil’s Island in French Guiana. Each of the journeys has its own character reflecting the distinctive spirit of the destinations, commencing at the far north of America’s East Coast, and then sailing to the Caribbean/South America, prior to crossing the Atlantic to Europe.

Highlights include an 8-night Journey to Trailing Whales and Falling Leaves, setting sail from New York on October 8th, 2024, for Boston, Portland, and Halifax, the Whale Corridors, and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, ending in Quebec City.

In a first for Explora Journeys, EXPLORA 1 offers journeys up the Amazon and into the Brazilian rainforest, complete with forest trails to hidden tribal villages and torchlit kayak tours. In Manaus, passengers witness the confluence of the rivers, where Rio Negro joins Rio Solimoes; and in Santarem, where the Amazon meets Tapajos.

A Journey into Wild and Wonderful Amazonia departs Bridgetown (Barbados), on November 22nd, 2024, sailing to French Guiana’s Devil’s Island prior to heading to Macapa, Alter-do-Chao, and Manaus, Brazil. A Journey to the Meeting Waters on the Almighty Amazon sets sail on November 29th, 2024, traveling up the Amazon to Macapa and Bequia prior to sailing back to Bridgetown.

A Journey of Tantalising Transatlantic Adventures sets sail on April 3rd, 2025, from Bridgetown (Barbados) on a 14-night transatlantic crossing. Passengers enjoy days at sea before exploring the 10-island Creole-Portuguese archipelago Cape Verde. The ship stops to take in the natural attractions of the Canaries, followed by Madeira, ‘the flower island’, prior to arriving in Lisbon (Portugal) on April 18th, 2025.

EXLORA 1’s grand journeys, 28-night A Grand Journey to Amazonia & Tropical Isles and 32-night A Grand Transatlantic Odyssey in the Atlantic, give guests the chance to explore the spirit of the destinations along the routes, as they sail the Amazon, the Caribbean, and the ocean beyond.
