Fewer than 50 Ukrainians remain on a ship in Clydeport (Greenock/Glasgow, Scotland) that has housed ~1200 refugees over the last 6 months.

MS Ambition, which is docked close to the Braehead shopping center, is expected to leave the port city at the end of the week.

Plans are in place to accommodate all refugees before the government's contract ends.

A spokesperson said there would be no time limit on the support they could access to find their new home in Scotland.

The vessel has been operational since September 14th, 2022, but the contract of the Scottish government with the shipowner (Ambassador Cruise Line) expires on March 31st.

The most recent figures showed that as of March 14th, a total of 365 refugees were onboard in comparison to 1135 in January. However, on Wednesday, March 22nd, members of Glasgow's Integration Board were told that only 57 Ukrainians were left on the vessel. Since then the number has decreased below 50.
