VIVA Cruises has announced its 2028 river cruise programme, marking the company’s 10th anniversary with 325 sailings across seven ships. The season will feature new itineraries, additional departures and an expanded selection of themed cruises across the Rhine, Main, Moselle, Danube and Douro rivers, as well as Germany’s canals and the Baltic coast.
Nasim Ghannadian, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for North America at VIVA Cruises, said the anniversary programme reflected the company’s growth through an expanded itinerary portfolio, increased departure frequency and a broader range of onboard experiences. The company intends to use the milestone season to further develop its European river cruise offering.
Among the main developments, VIVA MOMENTS will join the Danube programme with new 7-night itineraries linking Passau, Vienna and Budapest. VIVA ENJOY will increase its 7-night roundtrip departures from Vienna from 12 to 22, with Regensburg introduced as an additional turnaround port.
VIVA TWO will operate new 5-night Danube cruises calling at Passau, Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava. Meanwhile, VIVA ONE will increase its 7-night Moselle roundtrips from Düsseldorf from 10 to 15 departures. The ship will also introduce new 4-night Rhine itineraries in November and December.
The 2028 programme will include an expanded range of themed cruises covering music, gastronomy, wine and entertainment. VIVA ONE will host 7-night jazz cruises featuring pianist Frank Muschalle, while VIVA RUBY will operate seven crime-themed cruises.
Culinary-focused departures will be offered aboard VIVA ENJOY on the Danube and VIVA MIRANTE on the Douro. Wine-themed cruises aboard VIVA MOMENTS and VIVA RUBY will feature dedicated experiences involving Masters of Wine.
Through the anniversary programme, VIVA Cruises is combining additional departures and new itineraries with specialised onboard experiences across its European river cruise network.
