Nicko Cruises transfers World Voyager ship to AOV-Atlas Ocean Voyages

   May 11, 2023 ,   Cruise Industry

Nicko Cruises announced that it will temporarily exit the expedition cruise market by transferring its only expedition ship, World Voyager, to the sister company Atlas Ocean Voyages in September 2023.

The reason behind this decision is Nicko's inability to fulfill the minimum required number of passengers for World Voyager's cruises.

The parent company of Nicko and AOV - Mystic Invest Holding (Portugal) views this move as a strategic decision to target the American market.

World Voyager's farewell cruise has been arranged by Nicko to coincide with the Hamburg Cruise Days (September 9-13, 2023), after which the ship will be handed over to its new owners.

Nicko/fleet entered the German market with World Explorer in 2019 prior to switching to World Voyager in 2021 for expedition character sailings.

The company will focus more intently on the remaining ocean-going ship Vasco da Gama.
