Over the weekend, a Virgin Voyages cruise ship collided with a pier in PortMiami Florida.

According to a spokesperson from Virgin Voyages, the ship Scarlet Lady encountered strong currents while attempting to dock at PortMiami early on Sunday morning, July 16th, causing its stern to come into contact with the pier. Fortunately, the incident resulted in only minor cosmetic damage to the hull.

Repair crews promptly responded to the situation and completed the necessary fixes before the Scarlet Lady embarked on her next voyage later the same evening. The spokesperson reassured that all passengers and crew members were safe and accounted for.

At the time of the accident, the ship was returning from a 4-day "Fire Sunset Soirees" (roundtrip to Key West Florida and Resorts World Bimini Bahamas), which had departed on July 12th.

Due to the collision, Scarlet Lady's next voyage (5-day "Riviera Maya" / roundtrip to Cozumel Mexico and Bimini) was delayed by several hours.

According to CruiseMapper's satellite AIS data, Scarlet Lady left PortMiami at 1:04 am FL time (05:04 UTC) on July 17th. Nonetheless, the Riviera Maya itinerary remained unaffected.
