MSC building North America's largest cruise ship terminal in PortMiami

MSC Cruises is currently in the process of constructing the largest cruise terminal in North America, designed to accommodate a staggering 36,000 passengers in a single day. This groundbreaking terminal, part of MSC - the world's fastest-growing cruise line, is taking shape in Miami and will serve as PortMiami's Terminal AA and AAA.

The ambitious US$350 million project broke ground in March, originally aiming for completion in 2023-Q4. Once finished, it will have the capacity to handle up to three ships simultaneously, including MSC's WORLD-class vessels - the second-largest globally, surpassed only by Royal Caribbean's OASIS-class.

One notable feature of the terminal is its ability to enable cruise ships to connect to shore power, allowing them to power down their engines while at the dock. Situated adjacent to Royal Caribbean's Terminal A, it will be the final terminal encountered by cruise ships as they embark on their sea voyages.

Debuting in 2025, MSC World America will operate from Miami's newest terminal. The largest North America-based MSC ship will offer week-long Caribbean voyages (Miami roundtrips) all visiting MSC's private island Ocean Cay Bahamas.

MSC underscores that this new terminal in Miami represents its commitment to enhancing the appeal of Caribbean cruises for its guests, delivering an exceptional experience even before they step foot on board the ship.
