P&O Pacific Adventure passenger dies while snorkeling at Mystery Island, Vanuatu

During an Australian voyage, a passenger tragically lost their life on Tuesday, September 26th, while snorkeling at Mystery Island/Aneityum Vanuatu - a renowned holiday destination known for its exquisite beaches.

The unfortunate incident is related to P&O Australia's newest fleet member - Pacific Adventure.

A statement from P&O AU said:

“We extend our deepest condolences to their loved ones and are doing everything we can to support them during this difficult time.

“As we are working with the relevant authorities and to protect the privacy of the family, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”

Carnival Australia (P&O AU's manager) confirmed that one person had died, “following what appears to be a medical situation while swimming.”

At the time of the accident, Pacific Adventure was on an 8-day "Pacific Island Hopper Cruise roundtrip from Sydney NSW. The itinerary started on September 22nd and ends on September 30th.
