SeaDream Yacht Club is embarking on a fleet-wide enhancement by incorporating shore power connectivity. The integration of shoreside electricity empowers the yachts to switch off their engines, achieving zero emissions in ports equipped with shore power facilities.

Andreas Brynestad of SeaDream Yacht Club remarked that was a significant milestone and an important step in their journey to more sustainable cruising.

The recent successful upgrade of SeaDream II, undertaken during a planned drydock at Naval Rocha Yard (in Lisbon Portugal), signifies the commencement of this eco-friendly initiative.

The sistership, SeaDream I, is slated for a similar upgrade during her planned yard stay in April 2024. This initiative positions SeaDream Yacht Club as the trailblazer among luxury cruise lines, being the first to retrofit its entire fleet with shore power connectivity.

Brynestad emphasized the company's commitment to responsible cruising, stating:

“Visiting some of the most beautiful and spectacular destinations on the planet comes with a responsibility. We are committed to having a positive impact in the communities and destinations we visit. Our employees, our guests, and our partners are all an important part of our ambition to inspire more sustainable travel.”
