During its 3-night voyage from Singapore toward Phuket, the Genting Dream ship (owned by Resorts World Cruises) encountered a small boat in distress on the morning of September 3rd in the Strait of Malacca.
Crew members observed an individual signaling for aid and promptly initiated rescue procedures, retrieving the person aboard with all due maritime urgency. Once onboard, the rescuee was sustained with nourishment, received a medical evaluation, and was deemed to be in stable condition. Officials confirmed that sea and medical teams are now coordinating with relevant authorities to facilitate a safe transfer ashore.
Michael Goh, President of StarDream Cruises (parent of Dream Cruises), acknowledged that ensuring safety at sea remains the foremost obligation of any vessel. He commended the captain and crew for their vigilance and professional conduct during the operation.
