Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has redirected the Europa 2 for the summer season of 2027, assigning the vessel four reimagined voyages from June 2nd to August 3rd.

These sailings—ranging from Southeast Asia through the Indian Ocean and the African coastline to the western Mediterranean—replace previously planned Red Sea routes in response to shifting geopolitical tides, and re-establish the ship on its traditional course from Civitavecchia to Palma de Mallorca beginning August 3rd, 2027.

Although original bookings were disrupted, guests received advance notice and were offered rebooking options. Beginning in early summer, the Europa 2 will depart from Southeast Asia and navigate along exotic shores from Hong Kong to Singapore, across the Indian Ocean to Reunion Island, Maputo, Durban, and Cape Town. The voyage continues along Namibia's coastline, touching the remote isle of St. Helena, the Cape Verde archipelago, and ultimately Tenerife, from which the cruise proceeds into the western Mediterranean with calls in Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, Sardinia, and Corsica.

Throughout its service, the Europa 2 has maintained its reputation as “best ship in the world,” as recognized by Insight Guides Cruising & Cruise Ships. The ship’s programming will include two voyages featuring the IN2BALANCE wellness format—integrated fitness, relaxation, and mindfulness training during sea days—alongside newly outfitted lounges on Deck 11 for restful sunlit hours.
