Ambassador Cruise Line UK has confirmed a new engagement with well-known British media presenters Jenny Powell and Kate Thornton, who have been appointed as “Ambassador Ambassadors.” They are to feature on 7 specially selected voyages during 2025 and 2026 on the ships Ambience and Ambition.
On those voyages, Powell and Thornton will join passengers on selected days for a program that includes informal meet-and-greet opportunities, photo sessions, question-and-answer conversations, wellness-style talks, and live podcast-based interactive sessions drawn from Thornton’s White Wine Question Time. A highlight will be a “Battle of the Decks” DJs' event on each sailing, where the two media personalities will DJ from separate booths on the ship’s top deck, using curated 1970s and 1980s playlists.
Beyond those special events, Powell and Thornton will share live content via social media during sailings—covering onboard life, food and drink, entertainment and amenities.
The Ambassador has described the initiative as a way to enhance the guest experience without altering the line’s core offerings. Guests on these sailings will continue to enjoy the service, cuisine, entertainment and destinations typical of Ambassador Cruise Line, while the media ambassadors add a personalised layer of interaction.
This announcement follows Ambassador’s launch in 2022, and company officials have noted that the addition of Powell and Thornton reflects the line’s effort to bring familiar personalities to its brand and to create moments of connection at sea.
