NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that it will cancel more than 50 sailings as part of a sweeping redeployment affecting 4 of its vessels: Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Getaway, and Norwegian Joy. The company is reshuffling homeports and altering itineraries, with the most significant change involving a swap between Gem and Dawn.
Beginning in November 2026 and continuing through March 2027, Gem and Dawn will exchange base ports. All original sailings for Gem between November 1st, 2026 and April 4th, 2027 are being cancelled, and all Dawn cruises scheduled from November 1st, 2026 through March 28th, 2027 are also being removed from the calendar.
Under the redeployment, Norwegian Gem will relocate to Tampa, where it is planned to offer 4- to 11-night Caribbean and Bahamian itineraries. Norwegian Dawn will shift to Jacksonville, from which it will operate shorter Bahamas sailings.
The rewrite of schedules also affects Getaway and Joy. In each case, select short-Bahamas sailings are being cancelled due to port availability constraints. Getaway will lose departures on 16, 20, and 25 November as well as 14 and 18 December 2026. Joy is set to drop sailings on 18, 21, 24 and 28 December 2026.
NCL has stated that the changes are intended to make room for more immersive Caribbean itineraries, reflecting an updated deployment strategy.
