Oceanwide Expeditions commenced its 2025–2026 Antarctic expedition cruise season on October 22nd, 2025, departing from Puerto Madryn, Argentina, on a special itinerary featuring the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula.
All three of its motor-expedition ships — m/v Hondius, m/v Ortelius and m/v Plancius — will carry guests from South America into sub-Antarctic waters and onward toward the Weddell Sea during the season. The first departures of Hondius and Plancius begin respectively from Ushuaia and Stanley.
In addition to returning sailings such as the Falkland Islands–South Georgia–Antarctica voyages and Antarctica Learning & Discovery trips, new itineraries have been added for 2025–2026. These include a “Remote Weddell Sea Explorer” departing January 22nd, 2026 for 27 nights, and a one-off “Uncharted Islands of the Deep South” expedition into little‐charted waters.
The company’s Antarctic Programme Manager, Franklin Braeckman, stated that the season combines fresh and familiar itineraries that are intended to showcase the full range of the region’s maritime and wildlife opportunities, while delivering the immersive expedition experience for which the line is known.
