The cruise ship MSC Seascape arrived today in Galveston, Texas, ahead of its deployment as the inaugural vessel from the newly established Cruise Terminal 16 at the Port of Galveston.
Departing every Sunday beginning in November 2025, the vessel will offer 7-night Western Caribbean itineraries to Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico, and Isla de Roatán in Honduras.
The ship is one of the line’s largest and most advanced, featuring an array of entertainment, dining, and family-friendly venues with a Texas-inflected design to appeal to the Central U.S. market.
According to statements from MSC Cruises North America, the deployment to Galveston and the collaboration with the Port of Galveston represent a strategic expansion of the company’s U.S. footprint. Meanwhile, the port authority described the arrival of MSC Seascape as a milestone for the city’s maritime tourism infrastructure and economic growth.
With the new terminal and scheduled sailings, Galveston anticipates a significant increase in passenger traffic and enhanced status as a key U.S. cruise homeport servicing the Western Caribbean.
