Virgin Voyages launches land-based entertainment production arm

Virgin Voyages has announced a new entertainment initiative, "Screw It, Let's Do It Productions," which will adapt its original shipboard shows for land-based performances. The program will see productions from its vessels staged at Virgin Hotels locations and other partner venues. The debut show aboard the Scarlet Lady, titled "Booked," is scheduled for a land premiere in 2026, while the brand's signature "Scarlet Night" celebration will be launched at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas and Shoreditch in the coming year.

The company's Chief Executive Officer, Nirmal Saverimuttu, characterized the move as a validation of the quality of the cruise line's entertainment, which he stated is designed to evolve continually. He noted that the refreshed offerings, including new shows and updated ship amenities, are contributing to strong commercial performance on the Scarlet Lady's itineraries from Miami.

The Scarlet Lady itself has recently undergone a significant refurbishment. The updates include 24 redesigned suites, new VIP cabanas, and a Chinese-inspired restaurant named Lucky Lotus. The ship's current entertainment lineup now features "Booked" and "Persephone," a modern interpretation of a Greek myth.

The production of "Booked" was developed by No Ceilings Entertainment, whose principals will serve on an advisory board for the new production arm alongside other award-winning theatrical producers. To support this creative output, Virgin Voyages has established a 30,000-square-foot rehearsal facility in Orlando. This venue contains full-scale replicas of onboard performance spaces, allowing for comprehensive workshoping and rehearsal of new productions before they are presented to passengers.
