Disney Adventure meets fleetmates Destiny and Fantasy on delivery voyage

Disney Destiny and Disney Fantasy conducted a coordinated escort of the new Disney Adventure during its passage through Bahamian waters this week. The maneuver was arranged by the commanding officers of the two in-service vessels, and guests were advised via onboard communications that the third ship would be visible during the transit. Encounters involving three DCL-Disney Cruise Line vessels at sea are uncommon, making the passage a notable operational moment for those on board.

Disney Adventure is currently undertaking a delivery voyage from Germany to Singapore, where it is scheduled to enter service on March 10th. The ship’s introduction was delayed by approximately three months, during which time Walt Disney Imagineering carried out an extensive refit. The conversion required significantly greater investment than initially planned and transformed the vessel from its original configuration as Global Dream. The ship was originally ordered by Genting Hong Kong for its Dream Cruises brand, but the project was left incomplete following the company’s bankruptcy. Disney Cruise Line acquired the vessel in 2022 and proceeded with a comprehensive redesign.

Upon entry into service, Disney Adventure will become the largest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, with accommodations for approximately 6,000 passengers. The vessel is scheduled to operate exclusively from Singapore. Its onboard features include a central Storybook Castle within the Imagination Garden atrium, themed entertainment centered on Captain Jack Sparrow and Duffy and Friends, and dedicated attractions based on Marvel properties.
