Alaskan Dream Cruises (fleet), a Sitka-based small-ship cruise operator that had provided multi-night voyages through Southeast Alaska’s Inside Passage since 2011, has ceased business operations effective early February 2026. The company issued a notice on its website stating that it had “ceased business operations and will no longer be operating future sailings,” a decision described as strategic by its parent company, Allen Marine Tours, which will continue its core day-tour and maritime services in the region.
The closure brings an end to a niche segment of the Alaska cruise market that specialised in intimate, wildlife-oriented expeditions that larger vessels could not undertake, including access to remote fjords and small communities along narrow channels. The fleet, comprised of four vessels with capacities ranging from about 40 to 80 passengers, had been noted for its ability to navigate waters beyond the reach of larger cruise liners and for offering an alternative to the mainstream Alaska cruise experience.
Guests who held reservations for the 2026 cruise season — which had not yet begun — were informed of the shutdown and are being contacted with details about next steps, including refund procedures. The decision has removed a unique option from the roster of Alaska cruising, and travellers seeking similar small-ship itineraries will now need to look to other operators that offer expedition-style sailings in the Inside Passage and nearby waters.
