Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) has entered into a shipbuilding agreement with Italian yard Fincantieri to design and construct three additional large cruise vessels, one for each of the company’s operating brands: NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Under the terms of the arrangement, all three ships will be built in Fincantieri’s Italian facilities and are scheduled for delivery between 2036 and 2037 as part of a long‑term fleet expansion plan.

The vessel assigned to Norwegian Cruise Line will be a sister ship to the latest newbuild series already under development, while the unit for Oceania Cruises will follow the design established by Oceania Sonata in the Sonata Class of refined, mid‑size ships. The Regent Seven Seas Cruises ship will be the fourth in that brand’s Prestige Class of all‑suite, ultra‑luxury vessels. All three newbuilds are to reflect contemporary standards of maritime technology and comfort aligned with each brand’s market position and guest expectations.

NCLH officials have indicated that the order solidifies access to shipyard capacity through 2037 and is structured to support the company’s long‑term growth strategy without imposing significant strain on near‑term financial resources. With these three additions, the group’s combined orderbook now comprises 17 new ships across its three brands, reinforcing a planned compound annual fleet growth rate of around 4 per cent through the end of the decade.
