Ultra-luxury operator Regent Seven Seas Cruises has outlined plans for its 2029 World Cruise, a global itinerary titled Eras of Exploration that will depart on January 6th, 2029. The voyage will be undertaken aboard the all-suite vessel Seven Seas Mariner, which will carry approximately 700 guests on a journey from Miami to Rome over the course of nearly 5 months at sea.

The sailing is scheduled to last 150 nights and will cover more than 37,000 nautical miles, visiting 70 ports across 31 countries and 7 continents. Throughout the passage, the ship will serve as a long-term residence for its guests as it traces a route through several of the world’s most historically significant maritime regions.

The vessel itself recently underwent extensive refurbishment as part of the cruise line’s continuing fleet modernization efforts. The work introduced redesigned public areas and updated suites intended to combine contemporary design with the spacious accommodations traditionally associated with the line’s ships.

Within the company’s leadership, the world voyage has been described as drawing inspiration from the routes of historic explorers and the long tradition of maritime discovery. In remarks announcing the itinerary, President Wesley D’Silva indicated that the concept had been shaped around the great eras of exploration and would reflect the enduring spirit of long-distance travel by sea. He suggested that the 150-night journey was intended to provide guests with an extended exploration of the world in an environment designed to deliver the highest standard of all-inclusive luxury.

The itinerary reflects this theme of discovery. Departing from Miami, the ship will sail along the coasts of South America and enter the Amazon River before continuing southward toward Antarctica. From there the route will cross the Pacific to the islands of Polynesia and onward to Australia and Southeast Asia. The voyage will then traverse the Indian Ocean, with calls that highlight the architectural and historical legacies of India and the Arabian Peninsula, as well as excursions connected with Petra and the Nile region, before concluding along the Mediterranean shores and arriving in Rome.

Guests undertaking the voyage will have access to 326 included shore excursions as part of the cruise line’s all-inclusive program, along with thirteen overnight port stays that allow extended time ashore in destinations such as Lima and Sydney. The route also incorporates visits linked to dozens of UNESCO World Heritage sites across the itinerary.

Accommodation aboard the ship will range from veranda suites to the larger Signature Suites, with fares for the full voyage beginning at approximately US$99,999 per guest and rising to more than US$340,000 for the most spacious residences on board. Reservations for the sailing are scheduled to open on April 1, 2026, with advance registration available shortly beforehand.

Before departure, guests will gather in Miami for a one-night stay at a luxury hotel and an inaugural gala event, marking the beginning of the journey. Additional amenities associated with the line’s world cruises include curated shoreside experiences, luggage services between home and ship, laundry services and onboard medical consultations.

In keeping with the tradition of long ocean passages, the voyage is designed as a continuous circumnavigation that links distant coasts and civilizations. Over the course of its passage, Seven Seas Mariner will cross multiple oceans and follow routes that echo centuries of maritime exploration before concluding the journey at the historic port serving Rome.
