RCG-Royal Caribbean Group has announced the formation of the Royal Caribbean Group Foundation, formalising and extending its long-standing engagement in community development across its global areas of operation. The initiative represents a structured approach to scaling philanthropic partnerships, with an emphasis on education, economic opportunity, and environmental stewardship.
As an initial undertaking, the foundation has committed support to an emergency medicine residency program at Jackson Health System. The program is intended to provide advanced clinical training and contribute to the development of future medical professionals in South Florida, reinforcing essential healthcare capacity within the region.
RCG leadership indicated that the creation of the foundation reflects a broader view that sustainable tourism depends upon the strength and resilience of the communities in which operations take place. It was further conveyed that investment in medical education forms part of a wider effort to support long-term regional stability, particularly in areas closely connected to the company’s operational base.
The foundation operates under the framework of the company’s existing SEA the Future program, which is structured around environmental sustainability, community engagement, and innovation. Its establishment marks a consolidation of these principles into a single platform designed to extend the company’s reach and coordination in social investment activities.
Over time, the company has directed funding and resources toward a range of initiatives, including educational scholarships, partnerships with community organisations, and environmental conservation projects, notably in cooperation with the World Wildlife Fund. Additional efforts have included disaster relief contributions, support for maritime training programs, and the development of educational infrastructure in multiple regions.
Employee participation has also formed a component of these activities, with personnel contributing volunteer efforts across sectors such as education, environmental protection, and community support. The establishment of the foundation provides a formal structure through which these initiatives can be expanded and coordinated, aligning corporate activity with longer-term objectives in the regions the company serves.
