AOV-Atlas Ocean Voyages has announced the inaugural deployment of Atlas Adventurer (2024-built as World Adventurer), marking the brand's first dedicated program in Asia and Africa.

AOV's inaugural season is scheduled to begin on November 6th, 2028, from Kobe, Japan, and conclude in Piraeus-Athens in late spring 2029. It will introduce a series of new for AOV itineraries across Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean and Eastern Africa.

Atlas Adventurer's deployment represents a significant expansion of the company’s expedition portfolio, with voyages calling at destinations in Indonesia, Thailand, Madagascar, Kenya, and South Africa.

AOV stated that the itineraries would continue the brand’s emphasis on immersive travel experiences through its Epicurean Expeditions and Cultural Experiences programs, combining regional cuisine, local traditions and expedition-style exploration with small-ship luxury cruising.

To coincide with the launch, AOV introduced its Explorer’s Choice Inaugural Offer for guests booking suites aboard Atlas Adventurer. Depending on cabin category, travellers may select benefits such as air credits, unlimited Wi-Fi access, and pre-expedition hotel stays, while Reserve Collection Suite guests will receive all available amenities as part of the program.

James A. Rodriguez, AOV's President and CEO, described the inaugural season as an important development for the company, noting that the deployment would introduce entirely new regions while maintaining the line’s focus on culturally immersive expedition cruising designed for travellers seeking both exploration and refined onboard experiences.

The season will feature 16 itineraries ranging from 8 to 21 nights, alongside a collection of extended “Extraordinary Expeditions” lasting between 40 and 128 nights. Among the longer voyages are the 128-night Grand Odyssey Expedition from Kobe to Cape Town and the 45-night Silk & Sands Passage from Cape Town to Athens.

Ports and experiences throughout the program have been selected to emphasise regional immersion. Planned activities include culinary exploration in Thailand, marine excursions in the Philippines, wildlife encounters in Madagascar and marine safaris along the South African coast. The company indicated that the itineraries are intended to deliver destination-focused expedition travel while maintaining the intimate atmosphere associated with the Atlas fleet.

Suite reservations for the inaugural season will open to Atlas Yacht Club members on May 20th, 2026, with general sales beginning on June 10th, 2026.
