MSC Cruises has announced the entertainment programme for MSC World Asia, the third vessel in its World Class series, ahead of the ship’s scheduled Mediterranean debut on December 4th, 2026. The programme will include 6 theatrical productions across the ship’s entertainment venues, featuring three new shows in the World Theatre and a new live music production in the Panorama Lounge.

Two established productions, Hall of Fame and Queen Symphonic, will also make their Mediterranean debuts aboard the new vessel. Compared with MSC World Europa, the first ship in the series, World Asia will introduce 13 new experiences and redesigned spaces. Entertainment will be distributed across several venues, including the World Theatre, Panorama Lounge, Luna Park, The Harbour and the new Clubhouse.

The ship will operate 7-night Mediterranean cruises, calling at Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Messina and Valletta.

According to Steve Leatham, MSC’s Vice President of Entertainment, the programme combines new and returning stage productions with live music, activities, games and interactive experiences. A total of 33 musicians will perform daily across multiple venues, with the schedule encompassing strolling musicians, solo performers, live bands and the cruise line’s duelling-piano experience.

The World Theatre, the ship’s principal theatrical venue, will host four productions. Three are new additions developed in collaboration with external creative companies.

La NoTte, created in partnership with Only Child, will use music, dance and cinematic effects to tell a story set in a fictional residence frozen in time, featuring lovers and misfits. Sensoria, developed with creative and production company tbi, also known as The Big Idea, will explore the five senses through music, movement and circus-style performances.

Ritmo Divino, produced in collaboration with 2 Creative Entertainment, will combine flamenco with contemporary interpretations of Spanish folklore. Its narrative follows a flamenco dancer and a matador whose relationship ends in tragedy. The fourth production, Hall of Fame, will bring its concert-style format to the Mediterranean for the first time, celebrating influential performers and significant moments in pop music through a show inspired by live music award ceremonies.

The Panorama Lounge will present two large-scale productions. Sunset Symphonic is a new show combining pop and dance music with orchestral arrangements, live vocalists and musicians, choreography and aerial performances. The production will incorporate a recorded orchestra comprising dozens of musicians alongside performers on stage.

Queen Symphonic will focus on the music of Queen, combining a filmed 36-piece symphony orchestra with a live rock band, vocalists, dancers and acrobats. The production will also make its Mediterranean debut aboard MSC World Asia.

MSC said the entertainment programme had been developed with creative professionals associated with MSC Creative Studios, the company’s entertainment development and training facility in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Stephanie Jansen, MSC’s Senior Director of Creative and Theatrical Entertainment, said the studio had selected creative talent with experience across the entertainment industry to develop original productions for the ship. The initiative forms part of the company’s strategy to expand its theatrical offering and introduce new entertainment formats across its fleet.
