Azamara Journey to receive fleetwide Azamara Forward upgrades in 2028

Azamara Cruises will continue its Azamara Forward fleetwide renovation programme with upgrades to Azamara Journey during a 2-week dry dock scheduled for November 16th–30th, 2028.

The refurbishment will include a redesigned Discoveries Restaurant, a dedicated Chef’s Table experience, a new Atlas Bar offering, an updated Cabaret Lounge, a refresh of the Sanctum Spa, and improvements to staterooms, suites and public areas. The programme aims to enhance dining, entertainment and social spaces while retaining the small-ship atmosphere associated with the brand. The Penthouse Deck will remain exclusive to Azamara Quest and will not be added to Azamara Journey.

Azamara Cruises CEO Dondra Ritzenthaler said the initiative was intended to modernise onboard facilities while maintaining the company’s focus on personalised service, dining, entertainment and destination-focused itineraries.

Following the dry dock, Azamara Journey is scheduled to resume service on November 30th, 2028, with a 12-night roundtrip voyage from Athens, Greece, visiting destinations in the Eastern Mediterranean, including Egypt.

The renovation forms part of Azamara’s wider fleet investment programme. Azamara Quest is scheduled to debut its upgrades following a dry dock in November 2026, with its first post-refurbishment sailing departing on December 18th, 2026. Enhancements aboard Azamara Onward are planned for 2027.

Further details about Azamara Journey’s itinerary and booking availability are expected in the coming weeks as the cruise line releases its upcoming deployment.
