CMV-Cruise & Maritime Voyages hinted the company will soon announce another new vessel to enter service just 2 years after its latest addition, Columbus, which starts sailing on Sunday, June 11.

On June 9, Thursday, speaking in Tilbury at the renaming of Columbus (formerly Sitmar Fair Majesty, Star Princess, Arcadia, Ocean Village 1, Pacific Pearl), Christian Verhounig, CMV's CEO, shared:

“We are currently looking for new ships and we’re also looking for strategic acquisitions. An announcement will be made very soon.”

Renaming CMV Columbus, which had a “full technical and cosmetic overhaul”, Angela Rippon, godmother of the ship, said:

“I will take real pride in watching Columbus open up destinations for travellers, leaving its own footprint and making a lasting impression.”

Columbus is 95% sold for summer, and already 40% sold for next year – a program only launched in March 2017, with 800 guests already booked on the 121-night World Cruise, departing January 5, 2018.
