Port of Galveston Hits Record in December

The Port of Galveston welcomed a total of 113,488 embarking cruise passengers in December 2017, making it the busiest month since Galveston began its cruise business on September 30, 2000.

33 cruise ships visited the port in December and broke the previous record of 29 turnarounds that was set in December 2005. According to the news release, the cruise port also celebrated its 9 millionth cruise passenger.

In September 2018, Carnival Cruise Line will reposition Carnival Vista to Texas, joining Carnival Valor and Carnival Freedom.

Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas repositioned to Port of Galveston in November last year, joining Liberty of the Seas, the biggest cruise ship to sail from Texas.
