The award-winning river cruise operator Avalon Waterways announced plans to introduce a new Suite Ship in 2019. The newbuild, Avalon Envision marks the 13th Suite Ship of the company in Europe and 16th Suite Ship worldwide.
Featuring river cruising's widest opening windows, Avalon Waterways’ Panorama Suites and Open-Air Balconies boast wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows which open wide (7ft in Europe, 11ft in SE Asia) and invite the outside-in, not compromising room space. The Panorama Suites also have beds facing the views and large marble bathrooms.
Avalon Waterways' Suite Ships made a debut in river cruising with Avalon Panorama in 2011 and have garnered many industry awards, impressing river cruisers around the globe.
Avalon Envision will debut in spring and sail on Danube River on a number of itineraries including on 10-day Legendary Danube, 10-day Danube Dreams and 12-day Blue Danube Discovery.
On March 9, 2018, Avalon Waterways announced that the three 138-passenger sisterships Affinity (renamed Monarch Governess), Felicity (renamed Monarch Countess) and Luminary (renamed Monarch Duchess) will leave the company's fleet in 2019.
