Avalon Panorama

MS Avalon Panorama cruises on the Rhine, Main, and Danube Rivers, departing from homeports including Amsterdam, Prague, Passau, Nurnberg, and Budapest.

In 2024, Avalon Waterways began its Suite Ship fleet renovation and refurbishment project. The upgrades included interior enhancements (decor updates and renovations in all public spaces, new flooring, and furniture), faster Starlink Internet connectivity (with a second antenna added per vessel), Sky Deck redesign with new furniture, expanded seating in the Observation Lounge, upgraded Gym with new Kinesis One machines and additional free weights, and the addition of 15 conventional bikes and 4 e-bikes per ship. The renovations are being implemented over three years—2024 (Passion, Imagery 2, Poetry 2, Panorama, Vista), 2025 (Artistry 2, Impression, Illumination, Tapestry 2, Tranquility 2), and 2026 (Expression, Visionary).

Cabins

As one of Avalon's unique Suite Ships, Avalon Panorama was the first in the industry to feature two full decks of suites with wall-to-wall panoramic windows that transform the living space into an Open-Air Balcony. While cruising along Europe’s most scenic rivers, guests can enjoy the breathtaking views from the comfort of their suites. Each Panorama Suite measures 200 ft² and is over 30% larger than the industry standard.

Avalon Panorama has a total of 84 staterooms (including 2 Royal Suites, 64 Panorama Suites, and 17 with non-opening windows), categorized into 6 stateroom grades.

Cabin Types, Sizes, and Categories (high to low):

• Amenities in all staterooms include: two twin beds that convert to a queen-size bed, 3-door closets with shelving, private bathroom (glass-door shower, hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers), sofa, coffee table, flat-screen TV, vanity/writing desk, private French balcony (floor-to-ceiling sliding door), individual climate control, telephone, minibar, safe, deluxe pillow menu, and complimentary bottled water. Each stateroom accommodates up to 2 guests.
• 2x Royal Suites (Category RS) – Deck 3, size 300 ft² / 28 m²
• Panorama Suites – Category P (x31, Deck 3), A (x24, Deck 2), B (x9, Deck 2) – each 200 ft² / 18.6 m²
• Deluxe Staterooms – Category D (x10, Deck 1), E (x7, Deck 1) – each 172 ft² / 16 m²

Shipboard Facilities

Avalon Panorama’s onboard amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, an Internet Corner, a well-stocked library, an expanded Fitness Center, and a spacious Sky Deck featuring the Sky Bistro, shade system, premium lounge chairs, and a whirlpool.

Dining venues include the main Panorama Dining Room, Panorama Bistro, and the al fresco Sky Bistro. Additional onboard facilities include the Panorama Lounge & Bar (with an outside observation deck), Club Lounge, Library/Internet Corner, Panorama Atrium Lobby, Hair Salon, Fitness Center, and the Sun Deck with Sky Lounge & Bar, Sky Bistro, whirlpool, shaded seating, and a deck games area.

Avalon Panorama cruise fares are inclusive of Wi-Fi, room service, guided land tours and excursions led by certified local guides, port taxes, flights, motorcoach transfers, live evening entertainment (featuring local performers), daily enrichment lectures, a behind-the-scenes ship tour, food and wine tastings, 24-hour premium coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, and daily replenished bottled water.

River cruise prices are per person based on double occupancy and are indicative. Final pricing may vary depending on the booking date, special offers, group bookings, last-minute deals, or travel agency promotions. • (7-night cruise) “Tulip Time Cruise” – Spring-themed, 8-day river cruise through Belgium and Holland, roundtrip from Amsterdam (code WAA).
• (7-night cruise) “Magnificent Europe” – 15-day river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest (Eastbound, code WAB) and the reverse from Budapest to Amsterdam (Westbound, code WBA).
• (7-night cruise) “The Blue Danube Discovery” – 13-day cruise from Budapest to Prague (disembark in Nuremberg, Westbound, code WBN). The reverse is “The Legendary Danube” – 11-day cruise from Prague to Budapest (embark in Nuremberg, Eastbound, code WNB). "Cruise-Only" deals: Nuremberg to Budapest (code WNBO) and vice versa (code WBNO).
• (7-night cruise) “Capitals of Central Europe” – 10-day Danube cruise from Prague to Budapest (Eastbound, code WPB), and the reverse from Budapest to Prague (Westbound, code WBP). Both include bus transfer between Prague and Passau and visits to Bratislava. "Cruise-Only" option: Passau to Budapest (code WPBO, without Prague hotel package).
• (6-night cruise) “Christmastime on the Danube” – Holiday-themed, 9-day Christmas cruise from Vienna to Prague (Eastbound, code WNV) and the reverse from Prague to Vienna (Westbound, code WVN). "Cruise-Only" option: 7-day sailing from Nuremberg to Vienna (code WNVO).

The Avalon Panorama is the first vessel in Avalon Waterways' "Suite Ship" class. Among her standout features are two full decks of Suite cabins—each with wall-to-wall sliding glass doors and French Balconies—and spacious, varied public areas with full-length floor-to-ceiling windows.

Each Avalon Waterways "Suite Ship" is powered by two Caterpillar Marine diesel engines (model C32 ACERT) with a combined power output of 1420 kW / 1930 HP, along with an emergency diesel generator. The ship uses diesel-electric propulsion, featuring an azimuth thruster at the bow and a "Silent Drive System" that isolates the engines from passenger staterooms for reduced noise and vibration.

The Avalon Panorama was launched on May 14, 2011. She was christened in Mainz, Germany, by Mrs. Lisa Wilkinson—an Australian journalist and TV presenter from the Nine Network (Channel 9).
