Avalon Myanmar Review
Review of Avalon Myanmar
RV Avalon Myanmar cruises on the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar (Burma), with departures from Bangkok (Thailand) and Rangoon (also known as Yangon, Burma). Her sisterships include the Avalon Saigon (2018, on the Mekong) and Avalon Siem Reap (2015, on the Mekong).
This riverboat is part of the Avalon Waterways "Suite Ships" fleet of newbuilds. Owned by Pandaw River Expeditions, Avalon Myanmar is chartered exclusively by Avalon Waterways. The ship blends traditional Burmese styling with modern amenities. Accommodating just 36 guests, she offers an intimate, small-ship experience that encourages cultural immersion and interaction with locals along the Irrawaddy River.
The Irrawaddy River (also known as Ayeyarwady) flows north to south through Burma. It is the country's largest and most commercially vital waterway, connecting the Irrawaddy Delta with the Andaman Sea.
