Saga Cruises Announces Two Christmas Markets Cruises in Europe

Saga Cruises' guests now have a couple of chances to mark Christmas with visits to the best traditional markets in Europe.

December 2018 cruises onboard Saga Pearl II (one to Copenhagen and Oslo, 6 nights from GBP753, departing from Portsmouth December 4, 2018; and the other to Bremen and Hamburg, 7 nights from GBP1107, departing Portsmouth December 10, 2018) are sailing back-to-back so Christmas cruise fans can extend the trip and join both itineraries.

Saga Cruises’ Festive Hamburg Cruise calls at Germany’s markets on St Nicholas’ Day, December 6, when nation’s kids traditionally receive their gifts, and the city of Bremen boasts with twinkling lights as over 170 decorated stalls are all arranged around 15th-century town hall, with carollers, local craftsmen and street entertainers.

The largest square in Hamburg features traditional carousels, spectacular trees and stalls filled with gingerbread, Tyrolean woodcarvings, pottery and crafts from across Germany.

The Christmas voyages are among the last aboard Saga Pearl II. In Bremerhaven passengers can see the future of the company sailing with the new 999-passenger ship, Spirit of Discovery, currently under construction, from observation galleries at Meyer Werft shipbuilding centre.
