Silversea's Silver Explorer to Cruise Northeast Passage 2019

Silversea Expeditions is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary with the first for the line Northeast Passage crossing. The route transits Arctic Circle above Asian and Europen coastlines.

The all-suite, ice-class Silver Explorer departs on the 26-day cruise on August 10, 2019. She will sail a route covering a total of 5019 nautical miles (5780 ml / 9300 km) from Nome to Tromso.

The journey includes the UNESCO Site Wrangel Island, Champ Island (popular for its huge stone spheres dotting the landscape), Bear Islands, Tikhaya Bay's Rubini Rock (on Hooker Island, with its basalt columns) and Severnaya Zemlya archipelago (filled with glaciers and fjords), Novaya Zemlya.

The cruise ship will spend a day navigating as far north as possible in search of walruses, polar bears and seals on ice floes.
