The USA-based company Tauck River Cruises has seen enough growth in family market to introduce its 5th family-focused itinerary and its first official family holiday trip.
Tauck features 2 departures of its “Holiday Magic: Danube Family River Cruise” on December 22 and 23, sailing respectively onboard Tauck’s ms Savor from Vienna to Munich via Budapest, and onboard ms Joy from Munich to Budapest.
The riverboat will be specially decorated for the season. Passengers will be able to take part in holiday-themed activities, such as a visit to Oberndorf in Austria (where the “Silent Night” song was written and performed for the first time in 1818); a workshop highlighting traditional Passau treats; as well as a European holiday dinner.
Highlights also include “Imperial Evening” inside a private palace in Vienna; medieval games and scavenger hunt in the Old Town district of Bratislava; and a choice of trips in the towns of Melk, Krems and Durnstein in the scenic Wachau Valley.
Tauck was the first company that ventured into the family river cruise market. In 2010, the tour operator introduced river cruising to families, offering large number of suites on the ships' top deck that can accommodate families of 4.
Tauck also offers 4 European family cruises on the Danube, Seine, Rhone and Rhine Rivers during summer months.
